This week

This week we're cutting Sussex beef from Bruce Kenyon in Petworth, that we have aged for four weeks. Bruce only feeds his animals on grass and also lets them get a little older than lots of other farmers. This Sussex is big with a good fat cover and fine marbling; classic characteristics of beef that has been left alone to do its thing. This will be alongside free-range pork from West Sussex, homemade gammons, lamb from Hampshire and the delicious slow grown Fosse Meadow chicken.  


On the deli we have some lovely cheese (see below) and we’re pleased to have the Stolghino di Culatello back. This is a salami made from the off-cuts from making Culatello – which is the ‘heart of the ham’, salted and stitched into a pigs bladder and aged for 24 months. Its an incredible ham with unrivalled flavours and we will get one... one day! In the meantime the Stolghino is a beautifully simple salami made with salt pepper and a little honey. They are sold by weight and quite small. They best brought as a piece and sliced at home.

Usually, we are open five days a week between Tuesday and Saturday with deliveries on Fridays and Saturdays and collections on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. This week though, we are closed from Saturday until Wednesday 18 August.

We also offer three meat boxes and a cheese bag that you can order for delivery or to pick up. Offering these reduces waste and lets us serve more people, more quickly. The contents are explained above, and you will be charged according to the exact weight of the goods you receive. ​​

How ordering works

You can place an order at the start of each week, before 6pm on Wednesday. You can pick up your order from Thursdays and we deliver on Fridays. If you miss the form, give us a ring.

How delivery works

​We offer a free home delivery service, with delivery on Fridays. Once you have placed your order you will receive an email from Google Forms with a copy of your order. Please check you junk mail for this email and double check your order is correct.  


​If your house is hard to find, please include a note on your order explaining how to find it. ​

​When we deliver, we will ring your doorbell and step at least 2m away from the door, please allow us enough time to do that.

You will find a bill in your bag; please pay by BACS and let us know if you have any problems with this.

How pick-up works 

You can pick up your order from the shop, please keep an eye on shop opening times here.


We operate a two people in the shop at a time policy, please respect this.

Please also maintain a gap of at least 2m if you are waiting to come in, and don't forget your face mask.
